Last Day of Camping

On the last day of our trip Caleb got to drive Terry's truck. He was SOOO excited. It was very cute to see. We then went for a hike. It looked pretty boring at first, just a path along a grassy area. Then we got to the end of the road, but of course our group kept going. We ended up finding a creek and walked up it. It ended at a beautiful waterfall. I unfortunately didn't have a camera to capture it. The kids climbed to the top of the waterfall with Terry as I watched white knuckled. We all came home in one piece though! It was a wonderful vacation.

Wisconsin Dells

On the second day of our vacation I took the kids to the Dells so Terry and the gang could climb the huge moraines. We decided together to go on the Duck Tour and to Wizard Quest.
Caleb was very excited about going on the tour. He was pretty worried at first that we were going to sink once we hit water, and seemed happy as well as relieved when we were floating on the water!
This Duck Tour gave a lot of information about WWII. Caleb found some pictures while we were waiting of the Holocaust. He was very upset when we talked briefly about the history and how the pictures were of Jewish people, because he immediately made the connection that we are Jewish. This was not a conversation I was expecting to have already, and it was interesting to see him process it. We also talked about his great-grandfather who fought in WWII which made him feel very proud.

Devil's Lake

We went camping in Baraboo, WI to start our summer. Caleb and Kendall were so excited. The first day we went to Devil's Lake to go swimming. The kids were just a tad excited. They put their swimsuits on, then felt the need to put on floatation devices. I <3 the floaties on the ankles, and the upside down life jacket.
The kids had so much fun swimming. There were two sides to the beach. One side was packed, so we went to the other end which was pratically empty.

Caleb and Kendall spent over two hours playing in the sand as well. They were so well behaved, I was able to relax and read a book. It was amazing! What a fun afternoon!

Gardening

We decided to get a community garden plot this year. Honestly, it hasn't been such a great thing due to the lack of rain and heat waves that we have been having. There is no water source at Oakhurst, so we have to bring in buckets of water and then try to water it.
The kids have been taking turns helping, and this day was Kendall's turn to help. She was not thrilled about it, but did water a few plants for about a second each. I guess that is better than nothing!
Here she is doing a bit of watering. Hopefully we get a few veggies out of all of this work!

End of Spring Soccer

We made it through the freezing soccer season. Caleb really enjoyed it, and Kendall was his biggest fan!
Caleb was thrilled to receive his participation trophy. He put it right on a shelf in his bedroom to gaze at until his heart is content.
Here is a group picture of all of the soccer players. He had a great season, and wants to play again!

Swing Set Fun

The kids are still loving our new swing set! Caleb has now mastered the monkey bars, and Kendall is pretty close to having it down too. Caleb just loves going across the bars over and over again.
They have also just about have pumping on the swings down. They still love one first push, but can keep themselves going pretty well.

Loving This Stage

I am loving this stage that we have going on right now. The kids are getting along so well 99% of the time. They are being nice and loving to each other. It is great to see.
